Overview

        The Zhejiang Engineering Research Center for Chinese Medicinal Plant Essential Oils,a provincial scientific research center approved by the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission, is an important cooperation platform for talent training and the research on essential oils of Chinese medicinal plants in Zhejiang.

Research Staff

        The Center has built a first-class multi-disciplinary technology cross-fertilizationR & D team (including Changjiang Scholars, recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars). The team’s specialties cover Chinese medicinal plant cultivation, Chinese materia medica processing, Chinese medicine quality control, clinical Chinese medicine, pharmacology and pharmacy, etc.

        Prof. RuanYeping,PhD,professor, and PhD supervisor of ZCMU,has been named as Zhejiang Provincial New Teaching Talent,Zhejiang Province Women's Work Pioneer, and third-tier training staff of the Zhejiang New Century 151 TalentProject. She serves as Vice Mayor of Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Association of Chinese Medicine, Vice President of the Zhejiang Drug Administration & Industrial Development Research Society, Executive Director of the University-Industry-Research Education Cooperation Branch of the Zhejiang Province Association of Higher Education, Director of the Medical Education Branch of the China Association of Chinese Medicine,and Director of Zhejiang Society of Toxicology.

        Prof. Shen Xiaoxia is a Professional Herbal Medicine, Master, Professor. She has been selected into the Zhejiang New Century 151 Talent Project and the Taizhou 500 Elites Program, and named as High-level Talent in Hangzhou. She serves as amember of the Specialty Products Branch of the China Association ofAgricultural Science Societies, Director ofthe Zhejiang Association of Chinese Medicine, Deputy Secretary General of the Zhejiang Industry Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine Decoction Pieces, Secretary General of the Zhejiang Tetrastigma Hemsleyanum Industry and Technology Alliance, Deputy Director of the Professional Committee of Under-forest Economy Plants of Zhejiang Provincial Forestry Administration, member of the Professional Committee of Chinese and Natural Medicine of Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Association,and Chief Expert of the TCM Science and Technology Commission TeaminPan'an County, Zhejiang Province.

Projects and Cooperation

        In the past three years, the Center has undertaken more than 35 scientific research projects, involving National Key R&D Program projects, Major Research Plan, General Program, Young Scientists Fund projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and several provincial and ministerial projects. The elective courseson essential oil therapy offered by the Center are widely praised by students.
