Recently, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of undergraduate education at ZCMU, the first West Lake International Conference on Pharmacology was successfully held by the West Lake in Hangzhou. The conference, hosted by the Key Laboratory of Neuropharmacology and Translational Medicine of Zhejiang Province (ZCMU), was centered on the theme of “Precise Drug Target and Translational Research”.
The conference invited Academician Tan Weihong from the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Wang Jian’an from The Second Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine, as well as more than 20 top experts and scholars in pharmacology and related interdisciplinary fields from renowned universities and research institutes at home and abroad, including Harvard University, University of Sussex, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Fudan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Southeast University, Nanjing Medical University, Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, Jinan University, etc.
On the morning of October 12th, at the opening ceremony of the conference, Chen Zhong, President of ZCMU, delivered a welcome speech to the visiting scholars and provided a detailed introduction to the recent developments of ZCMU.
During the conference, experts presented great academic reports focused on cutting-edge scientific issues in pharmacology, interdisciplinary research, and the translation and clinical application of innovative medicines. They jointly discussed hot topics and challenges in the field of pharmacology, as well as the latest research findings. Experts shared their valuable academic experiences and insights, deeply engaging in academic exchanges and discussions with attendees, thereby injecting new vitality into the advancement of pharmacology.
The West Lake International Conference on Pharmacology has significantly propelled the development of the pharmacology discipline in Zhejiang Province and at ZCMU, fostered academic cooperation and exchange across various disciplines, and provided new ideas and directions for future drug development and clinical treatment. This conference will help the field of pharmacology reach new heights.
