Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the review results for the 2024 projects submitted during the centralized application period. ZCMU has been awarded funding for a total of 86 projects, including 42 General Projects and 44 Young Scientists Fund projects, with direct funding amounting to 33.6 million yuan. Both the number of approved projects and the total funding have reached new historical highs. The approved projects span not only the Traditional Chinese Medicine discipline under the Department of Health Sciences, but also other disciplines within the Department of Health Sciences, as well as the Department of Life Sciences and the Department of Management Sciences. Other types of projects under the NSFC are still under review.
ZCMU will continue to adhere to the reform requirements and guiding principles of the NSFC, encourage the integration of basic research with clinical needs, and enhance collaboration between ZCMU and its affiliated hospitals. It aims to proactively align with major national strategies and the health needs of the people, uphold the requirements for technological innovation in four aspects (world’s cutting-edge science and technology, main economic battlefields, the state’s major demands, and the people’s life and health), conduct organized research around key scientific issues, and advance the development of a high-level university through high-level scientific research.
