    News|ZCMU Delegation to South America Engages in TCM Cooperation Talks and Publicity Activities

    From November 20th to 30th, the “Embrace China” TCM delegation of the Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese visited Argentina, Chile and Ecuador to promote TCM culture and provide complimentary medical consultations for overseas compatriots. Zhang Weiren, first-class inspector of Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Huang Wenxiu, Secretary of the Party Committee of ZCMU and Director of the Zhejiang Culture Research Institute of Chinese Medicine, along with relevant medical experts from affiliated hospitals, participated in the events.



    During the visit, Huang Wenxiu delivered a presentation entitled “Historical Contributions and Inheritance and Development of TCM” to the compatriots, providing a detailed explanation of the historical legacy and growth of TCM, China’s policies for TCM development, international TCM exchanges, and more. The presentation emphasized the positive global impact of TCM on civilization, spotlighting ZCMU’s dedication to fostering innovation in TCM and the resultant achievements.



    Zhang Hong, Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of ZCMU (Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine); Dong Lei, Vice President of the Second Affiliated Hospital of ZCMU (Xinhua Hospital of Zhejiang Province); and Lin Xianming, President of the Third Affiliated Hospital of ZCMU (Zhejiang Provincial Zhongshan Hospital), provided personalized health consultations and diagnostic services, tailoring TCM treatment plans and recommendations based on individual health conditions. The delegation received a warm reception and extensive acclaim from the overseas Chinese community at each location visited.

    In Ecuador, Gao Zhenting, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate-General in Guayaquil, met with the TCM delegation. Gao Zhenting highlighted that the delegation not only provided services to overseas Chinese compatriots, reflecting the motherland’s care for its overseas citizens, but also helped promote TCM culture, playing a significant role in enhancing cultural exchanges between China and Ecuador.



    The activities of the “Embrace China” TCM delegation were jointly hosted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and organized by ZCMU. During the visit, ZCMU signed a memorandum of understanding with the local TCM clinics and schools to cooperate in the IUR, around the sustainable development of Chinese medicine in Latin America. These collaborative efforts encompass personnel training, scientific research, medical services, cultural exchanges, and other areas, aimed at furthering the global reach of TCM.
