    News|Opening Ceremony of Portuguese Educators Visiting Program Held at ZCMU

    The Opening Ceremony of Portuguese Educators Visiting Program was held at ZCMU. Hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Portugal, the program was organized by ZCMU with the support from China’s Center for Language Education and Cooperation. Jiang Jun, Deputy Division Chief of the International Division of the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province, Wu Chengliang, ZCMU Vice President, and representatives from ZCMU’s International Relations Office and the International Education College, as well as 17 officials from Portuguese education authorities, higher and secondary education institutions, attended the ceremony.

    In his speech, Wu Chengliang extended his welcome to the Portuguese delegation and provided a brief introduction to ZCMU. He proceeded to express the hope that through this event, China-Portugal relations could be further strengthened, where there could be more cooperation in culture, education, medicine, and scientific research between the two sides.

    Jiang Jun introduced Zhejiang’s education system concerning its modernization of higher education, vocational education reforms and development, etc. He emphasized the international exchanges and internationalization of education in Zhejiang Province.

    Maria de Lurdes Andrino Pereira, head of the Portuguese delegation, an official of Portugal’s Ministry of Education, and Chinese language program coordinator, conveyed her recognition and gratitude for ZCMU’s hosting work in her speech. She hoped that this visit could bring professional and personal gains to the delegation members and strengthen the exchanges between China and Portugal in language, culture, and education.

    After the meeting, the Portuguese delegation visited the Zhejiang Chinese Medicine Museum.

    The delegation will conduct a 10-day study tour in Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing, engaging in in-depth exchanges with education authorities, universities, and secondary schools.
