    News|Prof. Lara Lopes from Atlântico Business School of Portugal Visited ZCMU

    Prof. Lara Lopes from the Atlântico Business School of Portugal recently visited ZCMU, accompanied by Ye Xiao from the Confucius Institute of the University of Coimbra. Her visit was intended to further enhance the international communication and cooperation between ZCMU and Portuguese-speaking higher education institutions. Wang Ying, Director of ZCMU’s International Relations Office, Zhang Hongxia, Vice Dean of the School of Humanities and Management, Gu Mancang, Vice Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and other representatives from relevant departments participated in the visit.

    Prof. Lara Lopes delivered several lectures. One of them, aimed at the students and faculty of the School of Humanities and Management, focused on the current status, issues, and strategies of TCM development in Portuguese-speaking countries. Another lecture covered various research methods related to acupuncture, materia medica, and Qigong therapy, which was tailored for graduate students and international students. She also attended the International Congress on Complementary Therapies in Health & World Tour of Zhe’s TCM in Portugal, where she presented an online lecture on TCM and mental health.



    In addition to the academic activities, Prof. Lara Lopes visited ZCMU’s Pharmaceutical Research Center and Zhejiang Chinese Medicine Museum, immersed herself in ZCMU’s TCM research and cultural atmosphere.



    Prof. Lara Lopes serves as the director of the TCM graduate program at Portugal’s  Atlântico Business School. She is also a member of the Portuguese Society of Chinese Medicine and CEO of the Center for Biomedical Sciences in Comprehensive Health. Her visit not only facilitated ZCMU students’ and faculty’s understanding of the current TCM development in Portuguese-speaking countries but also holds great significance in promoting TCM exchanges and cooperation between ZCMU and Portuguese-speaking countries.
