On May 28, at the First Conference on the Development of Chinese Herbal Medicine Industry in Thousand Island Lake, Zhejiang Province, the "one institute and one factory" built by ZCMU in cooperation with Chun'an County Government and relevant enterprises was officially unveiled. On behalf of ZCMU, Zhang Guangji, deputy secretary of the party committee, awarded the "ZCMU-Thousand Island Lake Research Institute".

The Institute will focus on "Chinese herbal medicine cultivation and health product research and development" and "research and technical guidance of health and cultural tourism projects", carry out innovative research and technology promotion, fully exploit the rich and high-quality Chinese herbal medicine resources of Chun'an County and ecological resources of Thousand Island Lake. In addition, the Institute has been involved in the research and development of Chinese medicinal herbs, harvesting and processing, product research and development, TCM health care, research and cultural tourism, and other integrated industrial chains.

In addition, directed and participated by ZCMU, the construction project of the Chinese herbal medicine planting base, "Chinese herbal medicine (raspberry, dogwood) base," was also signed and implemented, building the whole process quality control system of "herbs source - planting management - origin processing - decoction piece production - circulation and transportation - clinical application" of Chinese herbal medicine.

At the meeting, Professor Qin Luping, Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of ZCMU, was appointed as a think-tank expert for developing Chinese herbal medicine industry in Chun'an County. Previously, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences had sent six expert teams to guide the "six flavors of Chun" - Dogwood(山茱萸), Raspberry(覆盆子),Peucedani Radix(前胡), Rhizoma Polygonatum(黄精), Rhizoma Paridis(重楼) and Radix Tetrastigme(三叶青), and achieved initial results, laying a solid foundation for ZCMU to help Chun'an County's high-quality development.
