The signing ceremony of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, Tunis, built by ZCMU and University Centrale, was recently held at ZCMU and University Centrale, respectively. Chen Zhong, President of ZCMU; Wu Chengliang, Vice President of ZCMU; Houbeb Ajmi, CEO of University Centrale; heads of relevant administrative units and colleges of ZCMU; leaders of University Centrale and Honoris United Universities;and representatives of teachers and students of both universities attended.
At the signing ceremony, President Chen Zhong presented the development of ZCMU and recognized the work done by the two sides in the early stage of the co-establishment regarding the outcome of training programs, faculty construction, enrollment promotion, etc. He hoped both sides would take the signing ceremony as an opportunity and start from the joint training of rehabilitation therapy and nursing talents. To establish cooperation in more areas, actively promote the sustainable development of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University & University Centrale, and thus lay a solid foundation for establishing the China-Tunisia Silk Road Institute of TCM.
Houbeb Ajmi pointed out that the cooperation would further enable the students of the University Centrale to broaden their horizons. Besides, TCM’s unique concept and philosophy would greatly enhance Tunisian medical students’ knowledge about health. Houbeb Ajmi hoped that both sides would use their respective advantages and continue to promote mutual development in future exchanges. Thus two sides can achieve mutual benefits in pursuit of win-win results and bring benefits to human health.
On behalf of the two sides, Wu Chengliang and Houbeb Ajmi signed the cooperation agreement to build the Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, Tunis.
As an important initiative of ZCMU to implement the “First-class International Exchange Project,” the construction of the Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, Tunis, realizes the breakthrough of ZCMU’s international cooperation in education. ZCMU will train professionals in rehabilitation therapeutics of TCM and nursing in Tunisia and North African countries, thus promoting the application of Chinese medicine disciplines, acupuncture and massage techniques, etc. In this way, more people in the world can receive benefits.
