Recently, the 10th General Assembly & 2022 World Conference on Acupuncture-Moxibustion of World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies(WFAS) was held in Singapore. Prof. Fang Jianqiao, Former President of ZCMU and Director of the Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of ZCMU, was elected as a member of the Executive Committee.

A total of 230 delegates of the General Assembly and observers from more than 40 countries and regions participated in the conference, both online and offline. At the meeting, the work report of the 9th WFAS Executive Committee, the financial report, the notification on the termination of some memberships, and invitations to serve in honorary positions were submitted for deliberation. Besides, the conference systematically reviewed the main progress and achievements of WFAS in the past five years, formulated the development of WFAS in the next five years, and elected the 10th WFAS Executive Committee.

Profile

Prof. Fang Jianqiao, M.D., Ph.D. supervisor, and Chief Traditional Chinese Physician. He is the former President of ZCMU. He serves as the Vice President of the China Association for Acupuncture and Moxibustion, the President of the Zhejiang Association of Acupuncture-Moxibustion, and the Director of the Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of ZCMU. He was named Qihuang Scholar (a title for leading TCM experts) for the Inheritance and Innovation of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Qihuang Project), Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions awarded by Zhejiang Province and the Ministry of Health. He has been selected into the Zhejiang New Century 151 Talent Project. He is a famous TCM master and doctor in Zhejiang Province, an expert of the nationallyrenowned and distinguished TCM experts’ inheritance studio construction project, a Zhejiang Provincial Leading Talent in Health, Director of Zhejiang Key Laboratory of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Neurology Research, and a recipient of the State Council Special Allowance. He has won the honor of National Outstanding Hospital President and National Outstanding Scientific and Technical Worker. He has conducted key projects of the Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine key projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and the National Natural Science Foundation of China and won 14 provincial and ministerial awards (including 4 first prizes) for scientific and technological achievements.
