The teaching of Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a course that links TCM theories and clinical disciplines, faces the problems of a loose connection between theory and practice, diagnosis and treatment detachment, and inheritance and innovation inadequacy. Dedicated to the research and practice of teaching reform, the team has established a curriculum system based on the five-element theory in TCM and conducted the 5L teaching with TCM characteristics. It cultivates a learning environment of diagnosis and treatment, cites ancient classics in case explanation, raises clinical questions and assigns group work in teaching to better qualify students for their work. The team also employs the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and formative evaluation, which have achieved remarkable effects.
