On May 25, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University Overseas Education Conference and Academic Symposium on TCM and Global Health was held at Binwen Campus, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University. Du Jian, the Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of EducationDepartmentof Zhejiang Province; Yu Qiaoxian, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Senyu Holding Group; and Wu Chengliang and Wen Chengping, the Vice Presidents of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University attended the Conference. Wang Ying, Director of the International Relations Office of ZCMU, hosted the Conference.

At the Opening Ceremony of the Conference, the Vice President Wu Chengliang delivered a welcome speech, proposing that overseas education on TCM is a crucial link to promoting the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of TCM internationalization and calling on the contribution to the global TCM development in three aspects: first, to make all efforts to promote the standardization of overseas TCM education; second, to explore the new business model of overseas development of TCM with digital empowerment of offshore education and Internet Plus diagnosis and treatment; third, to grasp the opportunity of international cooperation in TCM against pandemics and build a human health community together.

On behalf of the Education Department of Zhejiang Province, Director Du Jian strongly supported the development of ZCMU’s international TCM education, believing that TCM education will stand firm in the world medical civilization with the accompany of the inevitability of political, economic and social and cultural exchanges between China and the West. Yu Qiaoxian, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Senyu Holding Group, described her love for TCM and how Senyu Holdings Group had turned "a small herb" into a "branded national herb" and said that Senyu Holdings Group would support ZCMU in the development and export of TCM products. Director Wang Ying briefly introduced the structure and construction goals of the ZCMU TCM service export base and proposed an educational cooperation initiative: forming an international educational alliance through exchange between faculty and students, joint training, and online courses.

The Academic Symposium on TCM and Global Health was composed of the keynote symposium and 2 sub-symposiums. 15 experts and scholars from 7 countries, including China, Portugal, Israel, Brazil, South Africa, the United States and the Netherlands, shared and exchanged academic results online and offline. In the keynote symposium, Prof. Carlos Cavaleir from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, Prof. Shuri Newman from Reidman College for Complementary and Integrative Medicine, Israel, Prof. Lara Lopes from Atlantic Business College, Portugal, and Prof. Wen Chengping and Prof. Lv Lijiang from Zhejiang Chinese Medical University gave presentations on their research fields. In the two sub-symposiums, 10 experts and scholars made excellent research presentations on two main topics: "Application and Research Progress of TCM in the Prevention and Treatment of Covid-19" and "Development and Prospect of TCM Education Overseas". Nearly 1000 audiences attended the symposium online and offline.

The held of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University Overseas Education Conference and Academic Symposium on TCM and Global Health is conducive to promoting the overall level of international TCM education, excavating the potential of TCM service for human health, and strengthening the ability of TCM to facilitate interhuman connection. ZCMU believes that in the future, the overseas education alliance of ZCMU will work together to seek new development and create a new future together!
