On May 12, Clarivate Analytics released the latest edition of ESI (Essential Science Indicators) rankings. ZCMU has a breakthrough that Biology and Biochemistry entered the top 1% of ESI global ranking for the first time.

Including Clinical Medicine, Pharmacology and Toxicology, and Biology and Biochemistry, the top 1% ESI disciplines of ZCMU have increased to 3, tied for 2nd place among Chinese medicine schools in China.

As an important indicator for evaluating the international academic level and influence of universities and research institutions, ESI has become one of the essential evaluation references for the development level of disciplines globally. The disciplines ranked in the top 1% of ESI are generally regarded as international high-level disciplines. The entrance of the top 1% of ESI reflects the academic competitiveness and influence of a research institution (university, research institute).
