On February 22, the Research Working Group on National College Competition Evaluation and Management System of the China Association of Higher Education released the 2021 analysis report on National College Competition. In the TOP 20 national medical universities ranking list from 2017 to 2021, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University (ZCMU) is ranked No.1 among national Chinese medical universities and No.2 among national medical universities. Meanwhile, ZCMU entered the National College Student Competition list for the first time (top 300).

The report is the research result of the Research Working Group on the National College Competition Evaluation and Management System of the China Association of Higher Education. The evaluation follows the principles of fairness, impartiality and openness and adheres to the working principle of “quality-oriented and prudently-propelled”. The competitiveness in academic competitions of universities and higher vocational colleagues is analyzed based on related data in three aspects: award contribution, organizational contribution and research contribution.

As a teaching and research-oriented university with Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) as its characteristic and leading discipline, ZCMU has actively implemented the teaching concept of “taking undergraduate education as the foundation” in recent years, focusing on the cultivation of students’ practical and innovative abilities. With the joint efforts of all faculties and students, ZCMU has won 69 national and 801 provincial discipline competition awards in the past five years.
